Sustainable Production
The fabric – Certified Organic Cotton
The fabric is made in Australia and is certified organic cotton. Certified organic cotton is farmed without the use of pesticides, genetically modified seed or synthetic fertilizers. The soil is built up over the years to retain moisture and fungus, enabling in our case the organic cotton to prosper on a dry land (non-irrigated) farm.
Colour and dyes
We print our designs straight onto the natural cotton fabric, which has not been bleached or dyed.
Our matching dyed fabrics have been dyed using the Jet & wash exhaust dyeing method whereby the fabric is treated with a diluted solution of dye, gradually
transferred to the material. This creates a colourfast fabric that lasts. The dyes all conform to the environmental standards of the Oeko - Tex standard. www.oeko-tex.com
The screenprinting
We collaborate with local quality hand screen printers, with designer label portfolio, also committed to reducing their environmental impact.
They use absolute eco friendly water based inks and wash up solutions. They are part of the Marrickville Council Target sustainability program, and have reached the 2009 target of 10% reduction in all areas. They are looking towards carbon neutral to positive within 3 years.

Our Business Philosophy
We try to source all our manufactures and suppliers locally and look for how environmentally friendly and conscious they are in their production. For example a small thing such as choosing the most environmental friendly Bank, can help us. If we can through our choices impact business around to consider producing more sustainable, then we are all on the right path forward.
Next steps
We use paper bags today but are considering to start using decomposable plastic bags.
We are interested in finding a fabric supplier that dyes their fabric with natural based colors.
